Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if I have been put on the waiting list?
You will be contacted immediately if someone drops out of the program, prior to the program start date in February, for an opportunity to fill the vacated spot.
What time zone are the sessions scheduled in?
All time zones listed on the website are central.
How long is the program? Where/when are the sessions?
RISE is a 12-workshop program, beginning in February, with each 90-minute workshop running bi-weekly (every 2 weeks), for 6 months. The workshops are all live, instructor-led webinars using the Zoom platform.
Are there additional time/effort requirements other than the 12 webinars?
Yes. During the RISE program, you will be assigned pre-session and post-session homework (roughly 1-2 hours per month). There are also 4 special projects that you will take on during the program:
- Accountability Partnerships
- Building Rapport in my Network (Expand, Enhance, and Nurture)
- The Give Back Project (the Value of Volunteerism)
- Your Unique Leadership Development Plan
Are there any prerequisites for participating in the RISE program?
There are no academic or experience prerequisites for RISE, but you must commit to being brave when it gets uncomfortable...that’s when we grow.
I’m registered for RISE but I want to switch tracks...
Registrations are first come, first reserved. If you need to switch tracks, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your request. We will do our best to accommodate a switch if seats are available.
If I can’t make my chosen track can I attend a different workshop?
The program is designed to keep all the participants in a track together throughout the learning process. You must select a track and stick to those scheduled sessions, so choose carefully.
I need to miss a session, what do I do?
We’ve got you covered. Vacations, illness, work emergencies...they happen. If you can’t make a session, we’ll send you a recording of your group’s workshop along with the relevant homework so you won’t miss a beat!
Is there a cancellation or refund policy if I need to cancel before the program has started or if I need to exit the program early?
Our cancellation policy is simple: Cancel up to 21 days before the program starts at no penalty for a full refund. If you need to cancel with less than 21 days until the program starts, the full tuition is still due and you will not be eligible for a refund. We also recognize that life can come at all of us quickly, so if you find yourself in a unique situation, reach out to us so we can discuss options.
What are RISE graduates saying about the RISE program?
Glad you asked!
“Before I started the RISE program, I knew I wanted to change the trajectory of my career since I have been in my current role for over 11 years. I felt stalled and stuck in my current role and not sure how to go about changing it. Since completing the RISE program, I now have a plan of action and steps to take in order to help move my career along. This program really brought some focus into my life and I’ve walked away with a whole lot more than I expected, my toolkit is a little fuller and I am more prepared for anything that comes my way.”
“I loved the homework and that we shared the answers to our homework. We took away best practices from each other. I don’t normally get that type of feedback. And I loved that we got to apply these new skills after the workshop, the very next week. It gave me a new way of thinking and applying my leadership skills.”
